Today, a billion plus people in the world do not have access to toilets. A few days ago, a man was killed trying to prevent Government officials from naming and shaming people who were pooping in public, because they had no access to toilets.
Part of the Government’s swachh bharat abhiyaan is to stop the practise of open defecation, and get everyone to build a toilet at home. Most of us take the toilet for granted — but, think, how terrible our lives would be without this most useful room in our homes.
